The race course begins at the historic Westport Island Old Town Hall, which is on Route 144, also known as "Main Road," which is approximately 9 miles south of the exit for "Westport" off Route 1.  For users of MapQuest or Google Maps, or users of in-car navigation units, to get driving directions to the Old Town Hall, use the address: 1183 Main Road, Westport Island, Maine 04578.  

From Points South (Boston/Portland/Brunswick/Bath): 

Take I-95N towards Maine.  Take the exit for I-295N to Portland.  Continue on I-295 past Portland continuing north.  Take Exit 28 for Route 1 heading north, towards  Brunswick and Bath.  After passing through Bath, continue on Route 1, passing by the sign on the right for "Montsweag."  Turn right onto Route 144 towards "Westport" (immediately after the canoe and kayak dealer and "Norm's Used Cars").  Continue on Route 144 for approximately 9 miles, taking a left, and then a right (keep following signs for Route 144), and then passing over the bridge to Westport Island (look for osprey nest at far right corner of bridge on post). 

After crossing bridge, continue south on Route 144 (also known as "Main Road") approximately 5.3 miles, passing by the "Town Offices" sign on your left, passing by the Volunteer Fire Department on your left, passing the intersection of Route 144 (Main Road) and West Shore Road on your right, and finally passing the Squire Tarbox Inn on your right, until you get to the historic Wesport Island Town Hall on the right about 30 seconds after passing the inn.  You have arrived!      

From Points North (Bangor):

Take I-95 south.  Then take Exit 103 for I-295S toward ME-9/Gardiner/ME-126/Brunswick. Then merge onto ME-196S via Exit 31A toward Topsham/Brunswick.  Then take Route 1 north towards Bath (and follow directions above).
